Looking for the perfect preschool for your little one this fall? Join the PMC for a special tour of Petaluma’s Tiny Tots Preschool! This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the classroom, meet the teachers, and learn about their program.

Tiny Tots Preschool prepares children ages 3–5 for TK and Kindergarten by helping them build friendships, gain self-confidence, and develop age-appropriate motor, language, and early math skills. With engaging special presentations and plenty of outdoor play, the curriculum encourages learning through exploration and fun.

"The Science of Motherhood: The Amazing Adaptive Powers of Breastmilk"

Eva Emerson, Science Writer and Editor of Knowable Magazine, will discuss all the wondrous and often overlooked powers of breastmilk. Breastmilk is often a human's first form of nourishment outside the womb and it is a miraculous mother creation that adapts to the baby's individual needs. Learn about the power of breastmilk and its special capacity to protect babies from disease and to support babies growth and development. This talk is part of Kate Haug's "Collaborative Practices" exhibition at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, August 8 - September 6, 2026.

Dads Night Out: Golf Range Meetup (08/12/2026)

Calling all PMC dads! Join us for a casual evening at the Petaluma Golf Center driving range. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just in it for the swing and socializing, this is a great chance to connect with other local dads, unwind after work, and have some fun.

Bring your clubs, grab a bucket of balls, and enjoy some laid-back hang time. Snacks and drinks can be purchased on site.

No need to register, there will be a few bays blocked off for the group and Dom will be there to greet you!

Deep Roots Farm Field Trip (08/13/2026)

Join the Petaluma Mothers’ Club for a fun-filled morning at Deep Roots Farm! Families will enjoy a hands-on farm experience where kids can meet friendly animals, feed pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, koi fish, and the bottle calf, plus help collect eggs. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore the farm, learn about the animals, and make memories with your little ones.

$5 per adult (includes farm admission + one bag of animal food)
Children are free

Tears and Tantrums: Decoding Toddler Behavior

Young children have lots of passion and so many big feelings! How can we help them through tough times? How can we find patience when our kids are totally losing it? Join the Petaluma Mothers' Club and parenting instructor and coach, Heidi Grainger Russell, for a presentation about the emotional life of toddlers and preschoolers.

About Heidi:

Heidi Grainger Russell is a certified Hand In Hand Parenting Instructor as well as a mother and musician. Parenting is a big job, and Heidi believes that we all deserve support along the way. She is passionate about sharing information with parents and offers talks, classes, and support groups to her community.

Join Petaluma Parks and Rec for a magical Dive-In Movie Night at the Petaluma Swim Center on Friday, August 21!

Bring the whole family for an evening of swimming, fun, and an unforgettable outdoor movie experience featuring Disney & Pixar's Finding Dory!

The PMC’s biggest family event of the summer is back! Join us for the 2026 Super Summer Playdate on Sunday, August 23rd from 10am–1pm at McNear Park for a fun-filled morning of play, picnicking, and connecting with other PMC families. This annual tradition is the perfect chance to soak up the last days of summer while the kids run, play, and make memories together.

We’ll provide:

a bounce house
face painting
shaved ice
bubbles
water play activities
plenty of fun for all ages

Please bring:

a picnic blanket
snacks and drinks for your family
sunscreen, hats, and water bottles
towels or a change of clothes for little ones enjoying the water activities

Whether you’re new to PMC or have been part of the club for years, we hope you’ll join us for one of our favorite events of the year. We can’t wait to celebrate summer together!

Community in the early weeks and months with a new baby is essential! Join us for an open, supportive session where we talk about changing identities, relationships, and how to get through the day (and night) with little ones led by perinatal therapist Kylie Hempy, LMFT #151283, PMH-C. Kylie is a PMC mama of four and she's taken her personal experiences and worked with countless new moms and couples using evidence-based tools to help families survive a season that can feel impossible.

This event is open to mamas with babies one year or younger. Coffee will be provided!

Family Swim at La Petite Baleen (09/26/2026)

Join us for a special PMC-exclusive Family Swim at La Petite Baleen! This is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy the pool together in a safe, welcoming environment while helping little ones build confidence in the water through play.

During Family Swim, a Water Watcher will be stationed on the pool deck to help monitor the pool, and an Advice Teacher will be in the water to offer guidance, answer questions, and share helpful swim tips with parents as your children explore the water. Families will also have access to goggles, fins, tubes, toys, and other fun pool equipment to make the experience even more enjoyable.

Family Swim Guidelines:
• An adult must be in the water with all swimmers at all times.
• One adult may supervise up to two children.
• Maximum of two adults per family.
• Swimmers under age 3 must wear a reusable swim diaper. La Petite Baleen recommends the Happy Nappy swim diaper, available on Amazon and at La Petite Baleen.

Whether your child is brand new to the water or already loves to swim, this is a fantastic chance to practice water skills, play together, and get to know other PMC families. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot early!
