Charlie’s Acres is a non-profit organization that rescues farm animals who were abused or destined for the dinner table. In their own words, "we strive to teach people about the beauty and intelligence of these animals and how to leave them off your plate." All proceeds will go towards the care of the animals.
Attendees can join us at the farm for a tour and a chance to meet, pet, and feed the animals! The guided tour will last approximately one hour and involve about a half-mile of walking on a stroller-friendly dirt road. Feel free to register your extended family and friends - We understand that the event is around the Christmas holidays, and this would be a wonderful activity for a group if you're hosting for the holiday.
Closed toe shoes are required to go in with the animals. Boots are recommended if possible, especially this time of year! Please see their FAQ Page for more information about what to expect.

Please note that this is an animal sanctuary, and not a petting zoo. Charlie's Acres' priority is the physical and emotional well-being of the rescued animals. The animal residents always have a choice as to whether or not they want to interact with visitors and will reside at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives. In contrast, the goal of a petting zoo is profit and entertainment, meaning that animals may be forced to be handled regardless of what they want and are often discarded when they are no longer profitable.
